About Ty

Ty Smith has hearly 20 years consulting and leading executives and their teams. Currently he is as a senior organization development consultant at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.  He has conducted many senior level engagements with the expressed intention of eliciting buy-in and strategic focusing on revolutionizing the business model of the agency.  Ty is considered the resident expert in the application of Blue Ocean Strategies to remake organizational priorities.  He has additionally functioned as a trusted advisor and coach to several key leaders across the agency.   Prior to this role, Ty served as the Vice President for Organization Effectiveness at Home Box Office where he was responsible for the maturing of the training and development program; including the executive leadership development program. 

In addition to work in the in the federal government, Ty has progressively grown his private practice consulting to non-profit and public institution including his work with a public service labor union where he facilitated several unions events focusing on strategic opportunities. 

A master’s level graduate of Howard University School of Communication, Ty has had extensive training in human and organizational dynamics.  Beyond his academic training, he garnered much of his early insight into human nature when he served as a police officer very early in his professional career.
